West Indies Record ODI Chase Of 352 Beats India As Hope Makes 162

The West Indies record ODI chase now stands at 352, built in Mullanpur on Saturday as they beat India by five wickets with 10 balls in hand. Shai Hope made 162 not out from 143 balls. He was there at the start and there at the finish. India had posted 351 for 7.
India still take the series 2-1. They had won the first two matches, the second of them with a chase of 406 in Guwahati. Saturday was a dead rubber. It did not play like one.
West Indies reached 352 for 5 in 48.2 overs. It was their first win of the series. The Associated Press reported it as their first win over India since 2023.
Rohit and Rahul build 351
Rohit Sharma made 92 at the top. KL Rahul finished unbeaten on 129 and took the innings through the closing overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad passed fifty in the middle order. India closed on 351 for 7 from their 50.
India have now passed 350 twice in three matches. In Guwahati they chased 406, Shubman Gill making a double hundred. Mullanpur was the first time the batting did that much and still lost.
Hope anchors the chase
Hope came in early and stayed. His 162 not out took 143 balls. Amir Jangoo made 67 from 56 and gave the chase its platform. Keemo Paul hit 44 lower down.
The target asked for just over seven an over. West Indies took 48.2 overs to get there. Hope was captaining the side.

The records that fell in Mullanpur
ETV Bharat set out the marks that changed hands on Saturday. Before this match West Indies had never chased more than 331, a total they got in 2019 against Ireland.
- 352 for 5, the highest successful run chase in West Indies ODI history, past 331 against Ireland in 2019
- 162 not out, the highest score by a West Indies batter against India in an ODI, past Desmond Haynes and his 152 not out from 1989
- Level with Chris Gayle for the highest individual score made in an ODI run chase
- Third-highest successful chase against India in ODIs, behind 359 by Australia at Mohali in 2019 and 359 by South Africa at Raipur in 2025
India take the series, Lucknow comes next
The 50-over leg is done and India have the series. West Indies end it with the record. Hope batted 143 balls and was not dismissed. Amir Jangoo's 67 was the next-best score in the chase.
Five T20Is complete the tour, running to 17 October. The published schedule opens that leg at Lucknow on 6 October, with Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru to follow.
