U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2027 Schedule Gives Kathmandu Two Venues

The ICC has released the U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2027 schedule, sending 16 teams to four grounds across Bangladesh and Nepal. The tournament runs from 21 January to 6 February. There are 41 matches. Two of the four venues sit in Kathmandu. India arrive as two-time defending champions and begin against the West Indies.
This is the third edition of the event. The first was staged in 2023. Bangladesh and Nepal share the hosting, and the group stage closes on 26 January before a Super Six round sorts out the semi-finalists.
Four grounds, two countries
The 41 matches are split between two venues in Bangladesh and two in Nepal.
- Bir Shrestha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Cricket Stadium, Chattogram
- Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet
- TU International Cricket Stadium, Kathmandu
- Upper Mulpani International Cricket Ground, Kathmandu
Morning matches start at 09:30 local time. Afternoon games begin at 13:30. Chattogram takes the semi-finals on 4 February.
Kathmandu's half of the schedule
Nepal holds two of the four grounds and both are in Kathmandu. That gives the country a standing share of an ICC global event rather than a single showcase fixture. Upper Mulpani stages two matches on the opening day, when Sri Lanka play Scotland and England meet the United States.
TU International Cricket Stadium picks up the tournament on 22 January. Nepal face Ireland there. India open their defence at the same ground later that day.
The four groups
- Group A: India, Ireland, West Indies, Nepal
- Group B: South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, Samoa
- Group C: Australia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, UAE
- Group D: England, Sri Lanka, USA, Scotland
Co-hosts Bangladesh open the tournament against the UAE on 21 January. Australia play Nigeria at Sylhet on the same day. New Zealand meet Samoa at Chattogram on 22 January, where South Africa also play Pakistan.
Associates hold six of the 16 places
Nepal, Samoa, Nigeria, the UAE, the United States and Scotland are all associate members of the ICC. That is six of the 16 teams. Every group carries at least one of them, and Group C and Group D carry two each.
Sanjog Gupta, the ICC chief executive, said: "The ICC U19 World Cup is the stage that showcases the future of our sport." He pointed to the age profile of the two host countries, noting that close to 40 per cent of their populations are under 20.
Opening day and the knockout dates
Four matches fill 21 January, split between Sylhet and Upper Mulpani. The group stage then runs to 26 January. Qualifying sides move into a Super Six round of two groups, and the top two in each reach the semi-finals.
Both semi-finals are at Chattogram on 4 February, with 5 February held as a reserve day. The final follows on 6 February at 13:30 local time. A reserve day is set aside for 7 February.
