Scotland Name Four Uncapped Players for Netherlands ODI Series

Scotland have named four uncapped players for the Netherlands ODI series that starts on Friday. Ammy Baldie, Rebecca McCrossan, Charlotte Nevard and Isabella Watson all come into a 16-player squad. The three matches carry full ODI status. Cricket Times reported that Sarah Bryce captains the side in place of Kathryn Bryce.

The Netherlands travel with 15 players under Babette de Leede. Noa Mais is the one uncapped name in their group.

Four debutants in a reshaped Scotland squad

Injuries thinned the pool available to Scotland. County and club commitments took more names out. That opened the door for the four newcomers. Katherine Fraser, Abtaha Maqsood and Megan McColl provide the experience around them.

Head coach Craig Wallace framed the series around the fixture itself. "This series is an outstanding opportunity for us to play ODI cricket and host more international matches in Scotland," he said.

De Leede leads a Netherlands side under a new coach

De Leede has captained the Netherlands since October 2024. This is the first series under head coach Pierre de Bruyn, according to the ICC. Fifteen players travel. One of them is uncapped.

The opener is at Titwood, the home of Clydesdale Cricket Club in Glasgow, on 28 August. Stirling County stages the second on 30 August and the third on 1 September. Both later games are at the same ground. Start time is 11:00 BST.

Free entry and club-ground logistics

Admission is free at both venues. Cricket Scotland put that down to the short lead time on arranging a series that carries the operational requirements of international cricket. There is no broadcast. There is no live stream either. Scoring runs through the CS Play app.

Club bars will be open. Spectators may bring picnics. Both grounds are club venues rather than the Grange in Edinburgh, where Scotland stage much of their senior international cricket.
