Pakistan Bowled Out For 110 At Lord's, England Lead By 261

Pakistan were bowled out for 110 on the second day of the Lord's Test, conceding a first innings lead of 180. Ollie Robinson took 4 for 11 from thirteen overs. Jofra Archer took 3 for 26. England batted again and closed on 81 for 3. Their overall lead is 261.

England had resumed on 248 for 9. They added 42 to finish on 290. Gus Atkinson was caught to end the innings, Ali Usman taking the wicket. Josh Tongue was left unbeaten on 30. It was a career best.

England lead the three-match series 1-0. They won at Headingley by an innings and 103 runs.

The tenth wicket adds 47

Atkinson and Tongue came together at 243 for 9. Atkinson made 45. Tongue faced 48 balls and struck four boundaries. Their stand was worth 47 runs. That is a shade over 16 per cent of the England total.

Those four made 191 between them. Tongue had never reached 20 in a Test innings. His previous highest score was 19, against Australia at Lord's three years ago. He bats at eleven.

Four for 11 from thirteen overs

Robinson bowled thirteen overs and conceded eleven runs. That is 78 balls for the cost of a single boundary and change. Archer held the other end and finished with 3 for 26. Tongue took 2 for 27. The ICC match report had Pakistan three down for 30, with Shan Masood, Abdullah Shafique and Babar Azam all gone. It put Shafique on 5 and Babar on 8. Robinson, Archer and Tongue took nine of the ten wickets between them.

Pakistan won the toss on Thursday and bowled. Rain cut the opening day to 56 overs. Mohammad Abbas had England 36 for 3 inside the first hour, taking three wickets for four runs in sixteen balls. Jordan Cox and Jamie Smith rebuilt through the afternoon. Both reached fifty.

Azan Awais holds an end

Azan Awais made 46. It was the top score of the innings and 42 per cent of the total. Saud Shakeel made 16. Between them the two made 62 of Pakistan's 110. The other batters and the extras column accounted for the remaining 48.

Abbas finished with 4 for 73 from 20 overs. He had 4 for 56 overnight, so the second morning cost him 17 runs and brought no reward. Mohammad Ali took 3 for 86.

Stumps at 81 for 3

England's lead was 180 when Pakistan were dismissed. Eighty-one more runs took it to 261.

England lost three wickets batting again. Joe Root made 24. Emilio Gay was 30 not out at the close and Harry Brook was 7 not out. AFP reported Khurram Shahzad taking 2 for 5 from two overs, and bad light ending the day.

Three innings, no score past 200

Pakistan have been bowled out for 171, 135 and 110 in this series. Their three completed innings total 416. No single one has passed 200. The bowling has held up better: nine England wickets on the opening day at Lord's, four more on the second morning. Pakistan still trail by 261.

Babar Azam is back in the side. He missed Headingley with a finger injury. The ICC reported this week that he had declared himself ninety per cent fit for Lord's. Opener Imam-ul-Haq remains out with a left calf strain, according to ARY News.

Both sides are collecting points in the 2025 to 2027 World Test Championship cycle. Three days remain at Lord's. England resume on Saturday 261 ahead with seven second innings wickets in hand.
