Mohammad Abbas Claims First Lord's Five-For As England Set 389

Mohammad Abbas has his name on a Lord's honours board at last. The Pakistan seamer took 5 for 57 from 22 overs on Sunday morning, bowling England out for 208 and leaving his side 389 to win the second Test. Pakistan reached lunch on 53 for 3. No side has ever made that many in a fourth innings at Lord's.

Abbas has bowled well at this ground before without the figures to show for it. He took four wickets in England's first innings earlier in the week. The fifth on Sunday settled a long wait. He is the senior seamer in this attack and he bowled like it, holding a length outside off stump and letting the slope do the rest.

Mohammad Ali and Khurram Shahzad took two wickets apiece. England had resumed on 177 for 7. They lasted 31 more runs. The innings closed in 54.2 overs, and Abbas had bowled 22 of them.

Dan Lawrence top scored with 54 from 70 balls, with seven fours and two sixes. He had gone to stumps on Saturday unbeaten on 50, on a day cut short by rain. Josh Tongue made 12 before Babar Azam ran him out. Ollie Robinson made 8.

Three wickets went down before the interval. Robinson had 2 for 13 from seven overs by then, following his 4 for 11 in the first innings. Jofra Archer also struck. The pitch has kept helping the seamers all week, and Pakistan must now bat on it for a day and a half.
