. . .-100 . . . . . div , , p . , . , The former English skipper Joe Root seems to be in a league of his own when it comes to playing Test cricket. Not long ago, he was also close to shattering the record of most Test runs in a calendar year ndash which is currently being held by legendary Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Yousuf, but he eventually fell short. Recently, Root also managed to enter the elite 10,000 Test runs club as he shined brightly with bat during the Lordrsquos Test against New Zealand. In that game, the right-hander batted courageously to stand tall against all the adversity, and mustered his 26th Test century to take England home in an enthralling Test match. Not only that, it is important to add that Root has been scoring heavily in the red-ball cricket and that too with an immaculate consistency. This is clear from the fact that the reliable batter has as many as 11 centuries for England in Tests since the start of 2019. It must be noted that not only is this the most by any English batter in this period, but it is also the highest by any batter belonging to any international team.nbsp Next best in this list is Dimuth Karunaratne from Sri Lanka and Marnus Labuschagne with both of them having scored 6 tons each for their teams. While Babar Azam, Rohit Sharma and Kane Williamson have managed to notch 5 centuries for Pakistan, India and New Zealand respectively. With Root now being relieved from leadership duties, it will be interesting to see how he fares as a player to provide strength to the red-ball unit as the bunch aims to flourish under the coaching of Brendon McCullum.
