England Name 15 For 2027 Women's U19 T20 World Cup

England have named 15 players for the 2027 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh and Nepal. The England U19 T20 World Cup squad was announced on Friday alongside five non-travelling reserves. Chris Guest is head coach. The ICC says England are the first nation to pick a squad for the tournament, which is set for January and February 2027.

England have reached one final in the event's short history. That was 2023, in South Africa. India beat them at Potchefstroom. India won again in Malaysia in 2025, that time against South Africa. Sixteen teams will play in 2027.

Reserves and the winter camps

Ava Clive, Ivreen Dhaliwal, Libby Fellows, Lucy Randle-Bissell and Isobel Thorndike are the five reserves. None of them travels with the squad. They are cover, not tourists. The group trains in the United Kingdom first. Those camps run before any flight is taken.

"This is an exciting opportunity for this group of players who will be the best prepared squad we have sent to the U19 Women's World Cup," Guest said in comments carried by the ICC. "The aspiration as always is to win the U19 World Cup."

Five T20s in India before Christmas

India host the squad for a five-match T20 series in November and December. CricTracker reports the matches are set for Baroda on 26 and 28 November and Surat on 1, 3 and 6 December. The players stay on in India afterwards for further outdoor preparation. Baroda and Surat are both in Gujarat. The travel between them is short.

Guest framed the winter as serving two ends at once. "The goals for the winter are dual focused. We want to win the World Cup, and we are also developing players and helping them prepare for what their career might look like in a professional environment," he said.

Bangladesh and Nepal host in 2027

The 2027 edition is the first to be staged jointly by Bangladesh and Nepal. The 2025 tournament was in Malaysia and the 2023 one in South Africa. The format pairs a round-robin group stage with knockout rounds. Qualification is still open. The full fixture list has not been published.

For associations running age-group programmes, the calendar is the usable part of Friday's announcement. England have set out home camps, then five competitive fixtures in subcontinental conditions, then a further block of outdoor preparation in India. The squad was picked roughly four months before the tournament window opens. No other nation has named one yet.
