. . .-100 . . . . . div , , p . , . , It is hard to not overemphasize the importance of Babar Azam for Pakistan. Particularly in ODI cricket, the right-hander is making batting look ridiculously easy. When he comes to bat in the middle, a big score is almost guaranteed and his failures are a rare occurrence. After smashing Australia right, left and center in the previously concluded ODI series, he announced himself against West Indies in no uncertain terms. In a tough chase of 305 runs in Multan, Babar came to bat early when Pakistan lost the services of Fakhar Zaman. Afterwards, he produced valuable partnerships with Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan to take Pakistan to a strong position. Doing so, the Lahore born registered his 17th century in ODI cricket. It is important to highlight that this is his third consecutive ton in 50-over international games. In fact, he is the only batter in the history of ODIs to score 3 consecutive centuries on two different instances. Furthermore, his last 5 ODI innings have resulted in 4 ODI centuries.nbsp With this, the 27-year old also became the fastest skipper to 1000 ODI runs. To add to that, he also has the best innings to hundreds ratio in the history of the game with a criterion of minimum 10 centuries. Apart from winning the show on the field, he also made a wonderful gesture by handing over his man of the match award to Khushdil Shah who played a stunning cameo to help Pakistan win the first ODI game against West Indies in Multan.
