Ashley Noffke Named Netherlands Men's Head Coach

Ashley Noffke has been appointed head coach of the Netherlands men's team on a two-year contract. The 49 year old Australian replaces Ryan Cook, who resigned. Noffke arrives from Pakistan. He worked there with the bowling group. The side he inherits is already through to the next Cricket World Cup Qualifier.

He played three times for Australia. That was one ODI and two T20Is. His coaching record is the longer one, built across four countries.

Noffke signs for two years

The Netherlands confirmed the appointment on 23 September. Cook's resignation left the job open during a busy stretch of the qualification calendar. Two qualifying campaigns lie ahead.

"My approach starts with connection, before the tactic or the plan. I can't wait to get started," Noffke said.

From Pakistan's bowling group to Dutch cricket

Noffke has moved between domestic and international roles for more than a decade. His recent posts include:

The Dutch qualification ledger

The Netherlands have already secured a place at the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Qualifier through Cricket World Cup League 2. That one is banked. The 2028 T20 World Cup is not, and they are still competing for it. The recent record gives Noffke something to work with. The side beat Bangladesh and South Africa at the 2023 World Cup. They also won a group match against Namibia at the 2026 T20 World Cup.
